TEACHING ON RURAL AREA OF SIEM REAP

Found a cheap ticket always makes me become an impulsive buyer, especially if you still got some money in your bank account. I will booked it immediately. So does happen to me when I was traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and saw a promo ticket 85 RM (approx. 20 USD) from Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap. Well, you all know what happen next. Hahahaha. 2 days later I was on the flight heading into one of the province in Cambodia.

Then, what am I going to do in Siem Reap? Honestly I don't know. Hahaha.

For this destination, I don't want to just traveling and have a sightseeing. I wanna do something else. So, I browse on Couchsurfing community in Siem Reap and found a community name JB Foundation who create a free school for children on the rural area not far away from Siem Reap. This school teachs English for children for free and they need some volunteer to teach the kids.

WHAT WOULD I THINKING??

What would I thinking when assign myself to teach kids on rural area of Cambodia??

Honestly, I didn't think at all. At All!!  I just did. Because i know maybe it's a once in a lifetime experience and i have to take that opportunity. Beside that, i ever living in rural area as well so I know how difficult to get a proper education and/or experience something extraordinary from people outside your area.

Why would I do things that i never do before??

Why not! In my life and everyone life, there's always a chance to experience something for the first time. First time traveling, first time traveling alone, first time traveling alone to another country, first time teaching, first time teaching on another country and another first time experience. So this is my first time traveling to cambodia, alone and teaching in rural area on another country.

Do I scared??

Trust me, I'm scared myself to death. Hahaha. But I think you will remember and then smile about your scary lifetime experience that you do more than you remember your daily unscary and ordinary things. That's things will make you stronger and (hopely) wiser.

So here I am, standing on JB school foundation at Cheasmorn Village, Meanchey Commune, Brasatbakong District,

Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.

And trust me, I'm still clueless..
Hahahha..

WET AND DRY AT ROYAL BELUM

When I got a blogger trip invitation to one of the state in Malaysia, it's makes me wanna jumping up to the sky. I'm so excited. So, last month for 10 days, me and 20 blogger, youtuber and another social influencer from 10 country got a chance to explore this part of Malaysia state that been awarded as 9th best region to visit in the world by Lonely Planet.

One of the destination was Royal Belum rainforest national park which located at Malaysia - Thailand border. The forest was a 130 million forest, even more older that the Amazon and Congo forest. Amazing! We all got a chance to wandering around at Temenggor lake, the biggest manmade lake in Malaysia that been built at 1975. We were using boathouse for 2 days and 1 night in Royal Belum.

Banding island harbour from the boathouse
Our boathouse was departed from Banding island harbour, sailing slowly and entering the Royal Belum rainforest for hours. Along the way our eyes was soothing by the shady forest, the sounds of chirping bird and bugs, echoing from inside the deep green forest.

(PHOTO) ONE FINE AFTERNOON ON PUTRAJAYA

I was accompanied my friend from Lampung, Indonesia to enjoying sunset at Putrajaya, Selangor Malaysia. At that moment, my DSLR camera was hibernated at service center caused by running out shutter count. So, I took all the picture using my smartphone camera that might not have the best quality. But, I just think it would be a waste if I let those gorgeous moment of really fine afternoon in Putrajaya just sitting there on my harddrive.

Even tough it was a cloudy and gloomy day, but the afternoon on Putrajaya was really awesome. You could enjoy the view from the biggest man made lakeside in Putrajaya. (EKW)

MISTAKEN ON OEHALA WATERFALL

Although being a journalist I have an extremely tight schedule, but sometimes I could get an empty schedule all day. For the example when I get a job assignment at Kupang city, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, after doing confirmation with my news source, its turns out he cannot be able to meet me the next day because he still out of town. Automatically I had an empty schedule for tomorrow because I’m supposed to follow his activity all day but he can’t be in town. So, what am I going to do with tomorrow? Of course I’m going to find a nice place to visit. I won’t let a rent car doing nothing, especially because the office already paid. *evil smirk* Hahaha..

Asking for suggestion from our driver, because he is a local, he is offering us to see a waterfall in Soe district. What? Nusa Tenggara has a waterfall?? This is a lowland right? Emm.. I agree to visit that waterfall because he said it was a great waterfall in Timur Tengah Selatan region. I still didn’t expecting much about this waterfall because Timor island was a lowland, as far as I know. So my friends and I decided to going to the Soe district, Timur Tengah Selatan region, located about 2 or 3 hours’ drive from Kupang city.

BEACH TO BEACH ON BELITUNG ISLAND

Province with the named ‘island’ attach on it make Bangka Belitung Island province has more than 1200 kilometre beachline. With very short time trip, well, not that short, it’s actually 3 day and 2 night trip, my friend and I visited some beaches on 2 region in Belitung island. Here are some recommendation beaches that I visited on Belitung.

1. Tanjung Pendam beach.
The beach that was placed on West Belitung region was the first beach I’ve visited when I arrive for the first time on Bangka Belitung province. This beach was one of the main attractions and kinda must visit beach on West Belitung because it was nearby the Tanjung Pandan city center. On this 22 acre beach was also the placed that connected Belitung Island into some small islands nearby.
